Beef Birria Tacos

 

Beef Birria Tacos is a juicy, cheesy, delicious recipe—a true showstopper. This recipe is made with tender and flavorful birria beef, which is loaded intro broth dipped tortillas with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, fried until crispy then dunked in birria broth for a juicy finish.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

For the beef birria:

Ingredients QTY UOM
Olive Oil 2 tbsp
Beef Chuck 500 g
Short Rib 500 g
Onion, halved 1 piece
Whole garlic, halved 1 piece
Carrot 1 pcs
Bay leaves 2 pcs
Cumin 2 tsp
Oregano  1 tsp
Chili Powder 1 tbsp
To taste: salt & pepper

 

For the tacos:

Ingredients QTY UOM
Corn Tortillas 1 pcak
Euro Chef Mozzarella (Shredded)
Cilantro, chopped 1/4 cup
White Onions, chopped 1/2 cup

  

STEPS:

To make the beef birria:

  1. Heat up the pan to very high heat, then sear beef until all sides are brown.
  2. Transfer the seared beef into a stock pot, add all the vegetables, herbs, and spices.
  3. Braise for 3 hrs until the beef falls off the bone.
  4. Remove from heat, separate the beef from the broth, then set aside.
  5. Shred the beef and set aside.

 

To make the taco:

  1. Get a pan to low heat, lightly dip the tortilla in the broth.
  2. Pan fry the tortilla, then add the beef, grated mozzarella, chopped onions, and some broth.
  3. Fold it in, finish browning on both sides.
  4. Serve with broth as dipping sauce on the side garnished with cilantro.
